The embedded video player requires Adobe Flash Player
version 9.0.115.0, or later. The latest version of Flash Player
is available here:
www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer. You also have the option of
downloading the songs to disk for later viewing.
The video clips in the embedded Flash player are in
H.264 format. The
H.264 downloads are the same video that's shown in the embedded player.
The videos can also be downloaded in
MPEG-1 format.
MPEG-1 videos can be played in almost any video player
and work fine on older computers, but the video quality isn't
as good.
H.264 / AVC / MP4 videos require a compatible video
player. Current versions of VLC
Media Player, Nero
Showtime, and PowerDVD,
all support H.264 video. Windows Media Player requires additional
software
(FFDShow)
in order to play H.264 video. If in doubt, either use the embedded Flash player
on the website, or download and install a copy of VLC Media Player.
VLC is free, it's small, it does what it's supposed to,
and it doesn't perform a hostile takeover of your computer.
On some computers MP4 files are associated
with Winamp. Winamp doesn't support H.264, but it will open the
files anyway, just to play to audio. If this happens you can usually
work around the problem by right-clicking on the file that you
downloaded, choosing "Open With...", and then selecting
a compatible video player.
